On behalf of Mercy Partners, our Board of Governance and staff, I warmly welcome you to Mater Private Hospital Townsville, a not-for-profit Catholic Hospital.

Mater has proudly supported our North Queensland community for more than 75 years, providing medical excellence and specialist services, backed by a commitment to patient-centred care in the Mercy tradition. Offering 200 beds across our Pimlico and Hyde Park Campuses, we are a leading contemporary medical facility, including a dedicated Women’s and Children’s Units and an Emergency Department. 

With a rich local history and strong community connections, Mater is entering a new era of transformational change in 2019, with a ten year redevelopment master plan.  Hand-in-hand with this is our renewed commitment to our patient experience and continuous improvement.  Following extensvie consultation with our staff and stakeholders, we have recently launched our Patient-Centred Care Strategy. This provides us with a framework to deliver, monitor and review our patient experience from admission to discharge, and post-care services. This strategy is an organisation-wide commitment, and guides us as medical professionals in providing best-practice, patient-centred care. 

We are honoured to continue to serve the North Queensland community and look forward with excitement to the next chapter in the Mater story.
