Medical Students

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is a teaching hospital of James Cook University. The Townsville Clinical School acts as the principal base for the last three years of the James Cook University Medical Program and the final year of the Physician Assistant program in Townsville. The Clinical School campus is the primary support point for placements and clinical training for students in MBBS years 4, 5, 6 and Physician Assistant Year 3.

Nurses

Mater Private Hospital Townsville is always looking for new and innovative ways to reach our future workforce.  

There are regular availabilites for Student Nurses who are currently in their second or third year of a Bachelor of Nursing degree. This will help Student Nurses to further develop and refine their skills, along with consolidating their knowledge and university studies.  

Our aim is to invest in those who believe in our mission and values, and prepare them for a future within our organisation.

We are proud of our strong links with James Cook University. We have formal  Student Placement Agreements in a range of disciplines, including:
