Dr Anudeep Gupta

Biography and Clinical interests

Dr Anudeep Gupta is an Interventional and General Cardiologist at Mater Private Hospital in Townsville and Townsville University Hospital (TUH).

Dr Gupta has special interests in the prevention, diagnosis and management of coronary artery disease and acute coronary syndromes. As an interventional cardiologist, he can perform coronary angiography and complex interventional procedures as well as invasive cardiac assessments including right heart catheterisations and coronary physiology assessments. As a general cardiologist he is well versed in the management of all cardiac patients with an excellent understanding of the complexities and intricacies of practice in Townsville.

Dr Gupta is an associate lecturer at the University of Queensland and James Cook University, he has research interests in interventional cardiology, preventative medicine and in heart failure, and is actively involved in research domestically and internationally. He is also actively involved in the training and mentorship of the next generation of doctors - educating students and junior doctors on a regular basis.

Dr Gupta is a locally trained cardiologist, undertaking his Advanced Training in Cardiology in Townsville and first year of Interventional Cardiology Fellowship at TUH. This was followed by a second year of complex coronary intervention at Melbourne’s St. Vincent’s Private Hospital.
